Parents’ Corner

Description

We are fortunate at Community Magnet School to have a strong tradition of active parent and community involvement. By volunteering your time, you are able to help provide a stimulating, enriching, and rewarding environment for children and teachers at Community Magnet School. Our Parent Association performs many service functions and is involved in fund raising. The Ways and Means Committee conducts major fund raising for the school. We hope that you will become actively involved in these organizations.

Parent Association & Town Hall

Community School Parent Association (CSPA) has been in existence since parents developed the Community School back in the 1970’s. To this day we still operate under the Town Hall structure that was used when the school was first opened. The Town Hall Co-Chairs, Treasurer and Secretary are elected each spring for the following year. Town Hall meets monthly on alternate Thursday evenings and Saturdays. By-laws govern the association, a copy of which may be obtained at the school office. All parents and staff are expected to attend these informative and vital meetings. The Telephone Tree communications network calls all households to remind them to attend these meetings. Please make sure to attend. Childcare is always provided; Scrip and a light dinner are on sale, so come a few minutes early. Parking is available on the visitor’s parking lot as well as on the North yard.
