The first big fundraiser of the year is almost here. We need YOU to forward this email to all of your friends & family so we can have a huge audience for the first ever CMCS Jazz festival on our campus, Saturday Oct. 11, 3-6 PM.
For every ten tickets you help sell, you will earn a free ticket for yourself...send your list of ticket buyers referred by you (that actually purchased tickets online) to the office.

| Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year at Community Magnet Charter Elementary School. I am so excited about our introduction of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program this year. We are the first school in Los Angeles to embrace the IB-PYP! The teachers and staff have all had amazing training this summer and we have planned exciting ways to share the vocabulary and key elements of becoming a global citizen with all of our students. All students will be focusing on the IB Learner Profiles and Attitudes this fall, while the other curricular areas will be delivered as usual. Each grade will then teach one large IB unit this fall (most in late October-November). These units are exciting and rich in content and opportunities for student inquiry and action.
We will have Spanish as a Foreign Language Classes starting this fall and will be opening our new Inquiry Lab for science and arts exploration.
