We are in the last stretch of our “Donation Drive” for Community Magnet Charter School annual auction and WE NEED YOUR HELP!
As you know, these are trying times for the LAUSD – budgets are being slashed and many cherished educational programs are in jeopardy. These programs are what have made Community Magnet a beloved LA institution for decades, an institution which has made a tangible impact on the development and enrichment of the children who call Community their second home. Whether or not your child enrolls at Community Magnet, a tax-deductible donation of goods or services made on your behalf will go a long way in ensuring that both new and returning students continue to receive the kind of education that has repeatedly proven to impact their lives in so many positive ways. Following please find a brief list of potential donation items: • We are looking for GIFT CERTIFICATES of all kinds: from restaurants, spas, hair salons, karate and tennis classes for kids, boat cruises, theme park tickets and so on – you name it! • You can DONATE items such as jewelry, musical instruments, clothing, a time-share, airline miles and more • You can also offer PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, like tutoring, hair styling, massage, dog grooming services, private or group yoga lessons, architectural services, real estate consultation and teeth cleaning • If you work or have ties in the ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY, walk-ons or signed memorabilia from the whole cast are always big sellers Please note that donation items and forms are due by March 26th. In the spring of 2010 the Community School Parents Association (CSPA) will host this year’s most critical fundraising campaign, a two-week online auction culminating Sunday, May 16th with a live auction and reception at the historic Yamashiro Restaurant in the Hollywood Hills. To that end, we are in search of a tax-deductible donation of goods or services for this event (CSPA Tax ID# 95-4058022).
